CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – In this time of tight budgets, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Linn County is offering educational discounts to nonprofit professionals and organizations. The remaining 2013 Nonprofit Management Academy workshops will be offered at a reduced rate — three workshops for the price of two.
“We know budgets and pocket books are tight, but nonprofit professionals and organizations value quality professional development opportunities,” said Linda Fischer, ISU Extension and Outreach regional director. “Linn County Extension is providing a great resource to the nonprofit community with this offer.”
Individuals may attend three workshops for the price of two; organizations may register three participants for the price of two people. The offer includes all seven workshops remaining in the 2013 academy.
Developing into a Dynamic Leader is the May 23 workshop. It will cover how to lead effective meetings, become better at dealing with controversy and manage change. Features of the program also include the importance of networking and keeping a connection to local issues and opportunities, and a strong emphasis on personal skills development. It will be held at Greater Cedar Rapids Foundation, 324 Third St. SE in Cedar Rapids from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Attendees have the option to take the courses for continuing education units (CEUs) towards an ISU Certificate in Nonprofit Management. CEUs are available for each of the workshops for an additional $25 fee.
