AMES, Iowa – The Iowa 4-H Center is hosting its annual Make a Difference Day Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The volunteer day for adults and youth will be held rain or shine.
“This is an excellent opportunity for adults and youth to give back to the 4-H Center while having fun and learning about the organization,” said 4-H Center Program Specialist Abbie Parker.
Families, friends, 4-H’ers and non-4-H’ers are welcome to help out during the morning, afternoon or the whole day. The event kicks off with a continental breakfast at 9 a.m. in Linden Lodge. Daily projects will be announced during the breakfast.
Overnight lodging is available for families and clubs that would like to help at the center all weekend.
“The Iowa 4-H Center hosts Make a Difference Day each fall to promote service-learning with projects at the camp that need helping hands,” said Parker. “Youth and adults are able to come together and work side-by-side with each other while accomplishing a project. It’s a fun day we look forward to every year.”
