AMES, Iowa —Research shows that people who choose simpler lifestyles, nurture meaningful relationships and have a connection to nature are happier and healthier. This is the focus behind a new blog recently launched by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
The ISUEco-Family blog encourages readers to share experiences, ask questions and think about information related to sustainable lifestyles. Urban dwellers, acreage owners and rural folks alike can gain and share ideas about water quality and conservation, composting indoors, energy use, food choices, favorite outdoor spaces and other topics by reading and engaging with the posts made several times each week.
“I have been inspired by many people who have been willing to share their practices that improve their connections to their family and community, as well as to the natural world,” said Kristi Cooper, lead blogger and ISU Extension family life specialist. “I hope this blog becomes an excellent resource for others to improve their own lives with the experiences and practices our authors and readers share.”
