Iowa 4-H Foundation Website Gets New Look

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa 4-H Foundation’s website, www.iowa4hfoundation.org, has unveiled a new look.

The new site features detailed descriptions of outright and planned giving opportunities, said Shelly Greving, the foundation’s marketing director.

“We hope the site will educate 4-H supporters about the ways the Iowa 4-H Foundation supports the Iowa 4-H program and helps donors decide on their best options for giving,” Greving said. “We know it’s a tough world financially, but we ask that Iowans remember 4-H when deciding where to donate the dollars they have available.”

Iowa 4-H Foundation websiteThe site has many new features that make it easy to navigate and find information, including:

  • An updated online donation form to simplify giving to a particular 4-H program, camp or county
  • Online registration for Iowa 4-H Foundation events
  • An alumni directory to connect former Iowa 4-H’ers
  • The Iowa Hall of Fame directory, where website visitors may leave messages for individual Hall of Fame members
  • National Hall of Fame directory, where visitors may make tributes or memorials in their honor

“It’s been 10 years since the previous design was launched,” Greving explained. “The new website now presents a more modern, professional design to highlight how the Iowa 4-H Foundation helps to fund opportunities for Iowa’s youth and to help promote the foundation. In addition to a complete redesign, the site was built with a Content Management System (CMS) framework so that all staff are able to update the website instantly.”

In September 2011, an Ames-based website development company, Global Reach Internet Productions, gave away 15 free websites to commemorate the company’s 15th anniversary. The Iowa 4-H Foundation was lucky enough to be chosen as one of these recipients, Greving said.

“We were honored to receive this donation and we hope we are able to make it easier for 4-H supporters to give in support of their particular area of interest,” Greving said. “It could be a general gift to 4-H, a particular 4-H program, opportunity, camp project or county of their choice.”

The new site also includes a news module, allowing the Iowa 4-H Foundation to keep supporters up to date on 4-H events, programs and what's new. “Please take a moment to browse the site,” encouraged Greving. “We welcome any and all feedback from our users.”
