SIOUX CITY, Iowa ― Connect, on two wheels, with folks who are excited about fresh local food. Bike-N-Bite is a local food-centered community bicycling event celebrating local food in Siouxland.
The event will take place Saturday, Aug. 4, beginning at the Sioux City Farmers Market at 9 a.m., said Laura Kuennen, regional food coordinator with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. "Bikers can bring their bikes to the market, get a map of participating restaurants, bike to the restaurants and bite into appetizers featuring locally grown ingredients from Sioux City Farmers Market vendors, and then meet at Veterans Memorial Park for a finale party with more bites and live music."
Bike-N-Bite is part of a series of events in ISU Extension and Outreach’s Local Food Road Show, featuring events, tours, and festivals aimed at connecting people to locally grown food and flavors in Northwest Iowa.
