Summer Day Camp Program Coordinator Job Description
Objective:
Develop, implement and evaluate multi day camps for kindergarten through 5th graders that will lead to future participation in special interest 4-H clubs.
Assist in preparation and implementation of 4-H and youth activities at the local county fair.
Employment:
This is a temporary, part time position beginning approximately April 1, 2013 (online until college is over for the year) and ending when responsibilities are completed, but no later than mid- August, 2013. Exact employment dates will be determined and agreed upon by employee and employer.
Work hours shall be flexible to best achieve the objective. Total hour worked shall be a minimum of 250 hours and may be more. The employee shall work no more than 40 hours in any one week.
Report to local county extension council
Responsibilities Include:
Complete planning curriculum for day camps.
- Participate in assigned training.
- Develop promotional materials and recruitment strategies for youth to participate in day camps.
- Manage registration process and maintain attendance records and Medical/Release forms.
- Recruit and assist in training of adult and youth volunteers.
- Obtain needed supplies and equipment.
- Carry out planned activities to recruit youth to join 4-H.
- Conduct day camps
- Coordinate efforts to report the day camp program both externally- to the community and highlight camp themes and club opportunities, and internally to Iowa 4-H.
- Maintain complete record of 2013 County Extension Summer Day Camp program, detailing activities, and attendance, evaluation and media efforts.
- Assist with county planning, development and implementation of the local county fair
