4-H Clothing Event Report Form
Script Card for Style Show
Fashion Revue, Clothing Selection and the $15 Challenge judging will kick off the Expression Day events on Sunday, June 29 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Communications & Clothing judging begins at 3:30 p.m. The Style Show and Share-the-Fun entertainment will conclude the day’s events at 6:30 p.m. Below is a brief summary of each event. See the fairbook for complete rules. Communication events may be performed individually or teams. Entry forms are due to the Extension Office by June 15. In addition, a written description of the garment (script card) is due at judging.
Educational Presentations—Talks or demon-strations given in front of an audience that interest the 4-H’er. The presentation should contain (3) parts: introduction, body and conclusion. Maximum presentation time: Clover Kid—10 minutes. Junior—15 minutes. Intermediates/Seniors—20 minutes.
Working Exhibits—Describe, demonstrate or teach directly to a small audience. The audience takes away a product or skill and rotates from one working exhibit station to another. Example: How to Make a Flower Pen. Demonstration time: Clover Kid—15 minutes. Juniors—25 minutes. Intermediates/Seniors—45 minutes.
Share-The-Fun—Members perform before an audience purely for the sake of enjoyment. Examples: Skits, music, dance, gymnastics, and magic tricks. Acts can be performed by one 4-H’er or the entire club. Acts should be 8 minutes maximum length. Open to Clover Kids K-3 grade & 4-H members 4-12 grade.
Extemporaneous Speaking—Opportunity for Senior members to think, organize and speak before an audience on a 4-H related topic drawn from a hat. Participants have 30 minutes to prepare a speech. Speech should be 4-6 minutes long. Open to 9-12 grade.
Fashion Revue—Garments constructed by 4-H member during current year. Open to Clover Kids K-3 grade & 4-H members 4-12 grade.
Clothing Selection—Garments purchased by 4-H member during the current 4-H year. Open to Clover Kids K-3 grade & 4-H members 4-12 grade.
The $15 Challenge—Garments purchased at garage sales, consignments stores, or Goodwill Stores for $15 or less. Receipts are required. Open to Clover Kids K-3 grade & 4-H members 4-12 grade.
