Beef Weigh-In

All 4-H and FFA members in grades 4-12 planning to exhibit market steers, market heifers and dairy beef steers at the 2009 Allamakee County Fair must attend the weigh-in to have their calves weighed and tagged as fair projects. Calves must be a minimum of 350 pounds. The beef identification form must be completely filled out and signed by the member or parent/guardian. Each person may identify a maximum of 6 calves.
State Fair Participants ID in Decorah
All State Fair market beef exhibits need to be verified by retinal imaging. The regional site for retinal imaging will be at Decorah Sales Commission on December 12 from (TBA). A $5.00 fee will be collected for each head identified. Both the exhibitor and a parent must sign the verification forms or waiver. You will need to take Allamakee County tags to the weigh-in. State Fair animals weighed in Decorah do not need to come to our county weighin. Youth currently enrolled in 5-12 grade are eligi-ble to participate at the State Fair. Please call the Extension Office to make arrangements to attend the Winneshiek weigh-in.
