Testing will be available for intermediate and senior members.
There is no cost for participants.
Iowa 4-H Food Safety Quality Assurance
• Iowa 4-H members produce more than 17 million pounds of meat each year, which all goes into the American food supply.
• Some pork processors require producers to complete the National Pork Board Pork Quality Assurance Plus™ program in order to market their hogs.
• 4-H producers should be expected to follow the same rules and regulations as all other food producers.
• Training will provide a quality hands-on educational component for food animal members. Educational opportunity for members to learn about potential careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics at Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC).
