4-H Scholarships Awarded to Seniors

 

Three Allamakee County 4-H members will receive college scholarships from the Allamakee County 4-H Foundation and the Circle of Friends Fund. These funds are used to recognize outstanding graduating Allamakee County 4-H members who are examples of the 4-H motto “To Make the Best Better.”

 

Shayla Troendle, daughter of Kerry and Tammy Troendle of Waukon will receive a $500 scholarship this year.  She is a nine-year 4-H member of the West Ridge Riders and is active on the 4-H County Council.  Britney Heim, daughter of Tom and Bev Heim of New Albin and Rachel Myers, daughter of Mike and Teresa Myers of Waukon will each receive $250.  They both currently serve on the County Council.  Britney has been a 4-H member of the Bear Creek Kids for eight years and Rachel has been a member of the Clover Chasers for nine years.  All three recipients plan to attend Iowa State University in the fall.
