4-H Citizenship Club
4-H Citizenship Club, Year Two. First meeting to be held on September 21, 2:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Decorah, IA.
Have you ever dreamed of visiting the White House and other historical monuments? If so, we have an opportunity for you. 4-H members in 7-12 grade are encouraged to attend the Regional 4-H Citizenship Club informational meeting on Sunday, September 21. The Citizenship Club was designed with a two year projected plan. This year (Year Two), youth learn about federal government and travel to Washington D.C., in March or April 2015. In Year One, members learn about local and state government and travel to the state capitol in Des Moines. The two year commitment allows youth to experience local and state government with fun opportunities, new friends, and travel.
As a member of the Citizenship Club, youth have an opportunity to meet with public officials from federal, city, and county government including mayors, city administrators, and a former member of the secret service. Don’t miss out on this opportunity—join now!
