Iowa State University Extension and Outreach offices across northeast Iowa are hosting farmland leasing meetings from July 30 through August 21 at selected locations. These meetings will address questions that land owners, tenants, or other interested individuals have about farmland leasing.

Kids Day Activities at the Allamakee County Fair, July 18.  Do you like creating things? Do you want to share your creation with lots of people?  ISU Extension and Outreach Allamakee County and 4-H is hosting a LEGO®, veggie art and junk art Contests during Kid’s Day on July 18, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Allamakee County Fair.

County Fairs are serving as the landscape to showcase the NE Iowa Food & Fitness Bike Blender! Youth and adults are using human power to pedal the bike to make tasty strawberry/banana fruit smoothies.  Watch for the bike blender in the next few weeks for the County Fairs! Join the bike blending-taste testing team in NE Iowa!

Farmers and landowners committed to protecting and conserving environmentally sensitive land may now sign up for the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). Additionally, retiring farmers enrolled in CRP could receive incentives to transfer a portion of their land to beginning, disadvantaged or veteran farmers through the Transition Incentives Program (TIP).

The kids are out of school for the summer and will soon be looking for something to do.  Have them beat summer boredom by attending one of 5 day camps offered by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Allamakee County.  Camps are a great way to hang with friends, learn new things and experience new opportunities.
