Allamakee County 4-H Clubs are currently selling fruit and butterbraids as part of their annual fundraising efforts to support their clubs and the county 4-H program. Please contact your local 4-H member for ordering information.

Every year, top producers from the county are recognized at the banquet. In addition, several other awards are presented that evening. The Allamakee Dairy Promotion Board are accepting nominations, scholarship applicants, and dairy princess applicants for the upcoming banquet.
 
The Scholarship & Dairy Princess deadline is March 1, 2016.
Nomination deadline is Friday, February 12, 2016.

To sell morel mushrooms in Iowa, you must complete a certification workshop. Iowa State University is offering a 3-hour certification workshop on identifying morels and false morels. The workshop will be conducted by Dr. Mark Gleason, ISU Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Iowa Farm Bureau of Mitchell County, Iowa Soybean Association, Iowa Soybean Checkoff, various industry partners, and the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service are collaborating to offer a day-long Farmland Drainage Workshop.

The 2011 Tri-State Forest Stewardship Conference is Saturday, March 12, at Sinsinawa Mound Center, Sinsinawa, Wis. This is the 17th year for the conference, which annually draws 550 woodland landowners from Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa.
