Tri-State Ag Lender's Seminar

Problem

Livestock producers making transitions depend on their agricultural lender for financial assistance and risk assessment in order to allow their farm businesses to grow, expand or just stay competitive. Agricultural lender education is of utmost importance to increase their understanding of the changes in price, policy and production protocol of livestock producers in order to make effective loan assessments for individual farmers.

Response

This field specialist coordinates the Tri-State Ag Lenders Seminar annually in order to further improve the knowledge level of agricultural lenders in the Tri-State area across multiple enterprises.

Impact

The Tri-State Lender's Seminar attracted 79 agricultural lenders and financial consultants. Agricultural lenders reacted very positively to the as to the seminar's ability to address those needs of agriculture lenders, especially regarding Dairy, Beef, Swine, Corn and Soybeans Out and Risk Management Strategies; Information details on the New Farm Bill; and an opportunity to have their questions answered by the Extension marketing specialists who shared their insights with us.
