ISU Extension “Wine Grower News” Newsletter Making an Impact

Michael L. White, Field Specialist-Viticulture, Central Area

Problem Statement:

A timely, low cost communication tool was needed to inform Iowas commercial grape growers and wineries of current happenings and management options needed to grow quality grapes and make quality wine.

Programmatic Response

A weekly in-season and bi-weekly out-of-season e-mail newsletter was initiated on May 10th, 2007.  The newsletter, Wine Grower News is edited by Mike White, ISU Extension Viticulture Specialist.

Impact/Outcome:

ISU Wine Grower News is currently being sent out to a weekly e-mail audience of 778 people in Iowa and 25 in adjoining states. Subscription to this newsletter is free. New subscriptions
