picture of State award applicants

Five Adair County 4-H’ers were among the 50 4-H’ers selected as state project award winners for 2007. Natalie Bohling ended her 4-H career by winning the state leadership award. This makes Bohling one of the few Iowa 4-H’ers to claim four state project awards, the maximum possible.

Elizabeth Baudler won the state citizenship award. Katrina Schulteis claimed the state clothing award. Kelsie Cass won a coveted state project award for her work in the sheep project. Rachel Herr won the state beef project award. Velista Martin also competed for state honors in the beef project area.

Kelsie and Katrina will be attending National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Georgia.

Each of the winners advanced to the state competition after intensive competition at the area level. Judging at both the area and state level involved a written application and interview.

Each of the state winners receives a savings bond from the Iowa 4-H Foundation in recognition of their outstanding project work.
