What do you want to get from your money . . . a house, financial security in later life, college for your children, or another financial goal? Ruth Freeman, Iowa State University Extension Family Finance Program Specialist, along with local experts, will present five classes related to these financial questions and more during the Money Talk series slated to start Monday, October 22. The five part series will run from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Warren Cultural Center in Greenfield.
Session topics include:
- October 22 - Financial Basics: setting financial goals and planning your spending
- October 29 - Insurance Basics
- November 5 - Investing Basics – stocks, bonds, mutual funds
- November 12 – Retirement Realities
- November 19 - When Life Changes: wills, estates, marriage, divorce, widowhood, remarriage
The price of the five lesson series is normally $75, but thanks to generous local sponsors: Adair County Health System, Adair County Mutual Insurance, Don Carlos Insurance Agency, Farm Bureau Financial Services, Farmers and Merchants State Bank, First National Bank, First National Insurance Agency, Hometown Insurance, Horizons, Union State Bank, and ISU Extension and Outreach, Adair County, the fee is reduced to only $25. The fee for service will be used to off-set direct expenses, including a 192 page workbook, ISU publications and handouts.
