NV Early Out Club is organizing for another fantastic year. The club is especially designed for 4th and 5th graders and features cool projects, new games, service projects, and healthy snacks.  The first session will be Wednesday, September 23rd at the NV Middle School in Fontanelle. The club will meet from 11:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. with transportation available to Greenfield following the completion of the program.

“Members last year especially enjoyed taking their completed crafts to the local care centers and visiting with the residents. Members are able to express their creativity, experience serving others, and have fun as a group outside of the school day,” shares Donna Wallace, Adair County Extension and one of the group’s advisors. Laura Marnin, recently employed as an AmeriCorps member will also be working with the group.

Additional sessions are scheduled for NV early out afternoons. A full-day summer session will also be scheduled. Members of this group will be eligible to exhibit at the Adair County Fair and participate in other activities.

There is a one-time joiner’s fee of $30 to cover the cost of supplies and snacks. Need based scholarships are available for any family that meets free or reduced lunch program guidelines. Confidential scholarship requests should be made by contacting the Extension office.

Sign up for the club is needed by Wednesday, September 16th .  To register call the Adair County Extension office at 743-8412 or 1-800-ISUE399 or e-mail wallaced@iastate.edu. Youth may bring their completed registration form and payment to the first session. Youth should complete the Medical Information/Release Form found on-line at /adair/info/4henrollmentforms.htm  or available at the Extension office.

Teen and adult volunteers are invited to get involved with the group.  Both short-term volunteers that assist with a single meeting or project and long-term volunteers that work with the group on an on-going basis are welcome. To find out more about volunteering to help with the program, contact Donna Wallace at the Extension office in Greenfield.

NV Early Out Club is provided as a partnership with Adair County Extension and AmeriCorps State of Promise.
