Clover Kids Program to Begin at Stuart Public Library
The Stuart Library is partnering with ISU Extension- Adair County and AmeriCorps State of Promise to start a Clover Kids program. The program is open to all kindergarten through third grade students and will meet the first and third Thursday of each month beginning on March 1st. Each session will run from 3:45-5:00 p.m. at the Stuart Library.
Each session is focused on a theme and will include fun games, crafts, books, and a nutritious snack. The program nurtures belonging, mastery, independence, and generosity. There is a one-time sign up fee of $15 to join the program to help cover the cost of snacks and supplies. Need-based scholarships are available for children who qualify for free or reduced school lunch.
In addition to the bi-monthly meetings, a special summer day camp will be scheduled for participants. Members are also eligible to exhibit in a special non-competitive division at the Adair County Fair scheduled for July 18-22, 2012.
A special find-out and sign-up come and go session is slated for Thursday, February 23 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Stuart Public Library. Parents and their children can stop by and meet the program staff and complete the necessary enrollment forms. Families who wish to sign up, but can’t attend the sign up event should contact the Stuart Public Library at 515-523-2152.
Adults and teens that are interested in volunteering to help with the program can contact the Stuart Library or come to the sign up event on February 23rd.
