What do you want to get from your money . . . a house, financial security in later life, college for your children, or another financial goal? Ruth Freeman, Iowa State University Extension Family Finance Program Specialist, along with local experts, will present five classes related to these financial questions and more during the Money Talk series slated to start Monday, October 22. The five part series will run from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Warren Cultural Center in Greenfield.

“LOVING YOUR FAMILY— Iowa” is designed to deliver nutritional education in a six week course program.  The courses are held on Thursday evenings at 5:30pm. DATES: January 24 & 31 and February 7, 14, 21 & 28. Meetings will be held at the Adair City Hall, 320 Audubon Street, Adair, Iowa. A light meal will be served and on-site childcare will be provided. The Adair County 4-H Youth Action Committee encourages recordkeeping by offering a $10.00 incentive to every 4-H'er who completes a record book in addition to providing recognition for outstanding project work based on their records.

The Clover Kid program will start up again for 2012-13 on Saturday, October 6. The group will meet from 10:00-11:30 a.m. the first Saturday of each month at the Greenfield City Hall meeting room. Any K-3rd grader interested in enrolling in the program should contact the Adair County Extension office at (641)743-8412 or 1-800-ISUE 399. Pre-registration is required.

Results of the 2012 Adair County 4-H and FFA Livestock Performance Contests were announced at a special supper and meeting on Thursday, August 2nd. Joe Sellers, Area Livestock Specialist, was present to explain data received on the animals entered in the contests.

Adair County 4-H Youth Council raised nearly $1000 for the Kelly Laughery Memorial 4-H Communjity Service Scholarship at the Clover Run on the 4th of July. Nine 2012 high school graduates have been awarded $200 scholarships from the special Endowment Fund.
