Most of you already have been introduced to The Des Moines Register's Calendars Desk. The calendars desk handles a variety of our calendar listings, including Datebook, Juice, IowaLife, the Community Publications - and the Vacation Iowa guide.

We're currently putting together a list of statewide farmers markets, strawberry
patches and raspberry patches. These will all be online and we hope to get some of them in print as well.

How to send us the information we need:

Our online system is the best, most accurate way to deliver information
and allows you to submit at times convenient for you. If your computer has
Internet access, launch a web browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox are
examples) and type in the following URL: http://submit.dmregister.com 

When you get to this site, click on the "Create New Account" button. There's a link to some frequently asked questions on the site, or you can refer to the instructions you should have received with this letter. If you have questions or need help with this, feel free to call Tina White, calendars editor, at (515) 284-8519. 

If the online system is not an option, you may e-mail your listings to us at
calendars@dmreg.com. Please put "Vacation Iowa" in the subject line if you're
submitting specifically for this section. 

If you do not have Internet access or e-mail, please send your event details

The final option would be to fax your event details. Our number is (515)

Here's the information we need:
* Name of event
* Location, including address or intersection, city, county and ZIP code
* Dates AND times (if you struggle submitting the times and dates, just put
in the first time and date and explain in the description if there's a pattern
such as "5-7 p.m. Thursdays from May 1 through Sept. 30".
* Short description summarizing the highlights of the event
* Admission costs, ticket prices, etc
* Publishable contact information, including phone numbers, e-mail addresses
and/or Web sites. Please specify if you include information that
you DO NOT want published in the paper or online.
* Photos: If you have a high-resolution digital photo that would best
illustrate the event, we would like to add it to our online event listings.
