YES! You are correct.
All these species prefer to feed on the ground. Others, like chickadees, nuthatches, jays, and goldfinches prefer to feed off the ground, either on hanging feeders or hopper-type feeders. That is why a variety in feeder types and locations is more successful than a single feeder (though a single feeder is better than nothing!)
