East-Central and Southeast Iowa Crop Information

Welcome!

Soybean aphids on leaflets Soybean aphids Winged soybean aphid

Soybean aphids have been found at low levels in the counties covered by this web page. Most likely small colonies can be found in any field if scouting is extensive. They have been found in northeast Iowa but few have been captured in the trapping system, so there is limited movement from field to field. Use scouting techniques and management techniques described at the following links.

  • ISU Soybean Aphid Site

  • Soybean Aphid Information, Scouting, and Thresholds - Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) site with information compiled from and agreed to by all of the Land Grant Universities (U. of Illinois, ISU, U. of Minneosta, U. of Missouri, U. of Wisconsin, etc.) in the upper Midwest

  • Soybean Aphid Insecticide Use

  • Iowa and Minnesota Speed Sampling for Soybean Aphid
