Test Preparation for Private Pesticide Applicators
in East-Central and Southeast Iowa
Welcome!
Iowa State University has prepared a study guide to help you
prepare to take the test to become a Private Pesticide Applicator.
("Certified private applicator" means a certified applicator who uses any pesticide which is classified for restricted use
on property owned or rented by the applicator or the applicator's employer
or, if applied without compensation other than trading of personal
services between producers of agricultural commodities, on the property of
another person. Iowa Code, Chapter 206.2) If you wish to fumigate, you
must also pass the test for commercial fumigators;
this is due to the great danger involved with fumigation.
The study guide is available at each Iowa State
University Extension office at a cost of $15.00. Ask for PAT-1
"Private
Pesticide Applicator Study Guide." You may also order it directly here.
Testing
dates and locations are scattered around the state throughout the
year.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Iowa State University Extension Office.
