Commercial Pesticide Applicator Test Help Sessions
February 14 & March 22 - 9:00 a.m.
Two sessions to help prepare individuals for
the commercial pesticide applicator examinations will be held in eastern Iowa. The first session
will be offered in Marion
in the Linn County Extension Office at 3279 7th Ave. on Wednesday,
February 14. A second session will be offered on Thursday, March 22 in Bettendorf in the Scott
County Extension Office, 875 Tanglefoot Lane. Training will
begin at 9:00 a.m. at both locations.
At both sessions, training will be offered on the core manual and categories 1A
(Ag Weed), 1B (Ag Insect), 1C (Ag Diseases), 3O, T, & G (Ornamental, Turf
& Greenhouse), 4 (Seed Treatment), and 6 (Right-of-Way). Training on the
core manual will be offered from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Training on category
3, the ag categories, and
categories 4 and 6 will begin at approximately 10:45 a.m. and conclude by about
1:00 p.m. There is a $20 fee
per person at each training session. These training sessions do NOT qualify as

Short Course
February 28 -- 9:00 a.m.
This short course will be delivered via distance education technology at the Clinton, Des Moines, and
Washington County Extension Offices with speakers from Illinois,
Iowa, Nebraska,
and Wisconsin.
There is a $10 registration for those not seeking CCA CEUs
and $25 registration for those seeking CCA CEUs.

Southeast Iowa
Research Association Annual Meeting
March 1 – 10:00 a.m.
Washington County Extension Office
The annual meeting for the southeast Iowa research farm near
Crawfordsville will be held in the Washington County Extension Office from
10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The meeting is free and open to the public. Lunch will
be available at noon for $10. Speakers will include Lori Abendroth,
Corn-On-Corn Management; Antonio Mallarino, Fertilizer Issues; Kendall Lamkey –
ISU agronomy Dept. Head, The Bio-economy; Patti
Prasifka, Corn Insect Management; Mark Hanna, Corn-On-Corn Tillage; and Jerry
DeWitt, Leopold Center Issues. CCA credits will be available. More
