Jones County 4-H’er Receives Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Jones County 4-H member. Cody Dirks, Wyoming, has received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc.
Dirks, a nine-year member, is the son of Steve and Cindy Dirks. He has been involved in the beef, welding, woodworking and natural resources project areas and has received a local senior achievement award. He also has held the position of vice president in his club and been a member of his county 4-H council.
“4-H has taught me the importance of goal setting,” said Dirks. “While working towards my goals I have learned how to accomplish my tasks effectively and efficiently.”
A recent graduate of Midland High School, Dirks plans to attend Kirkwood Community College for animal science.
