Description:
An all-day workshop on farmland drainage will be held at Michael J. Manatt Community Center located at 105 Jackson Street in Brooklyn, Iowa. For directions and questions, please contact Poweshiek County Extension office.
The morning session will focus on drainage design concepts, economics and long term benefits of tiling. The afternoon session will include discussions on drainage maintenance issues, compliance with USDA - NRCS
requirements, discussions on controlled
drainage, bioreactors, and managing
drainage water quality with wetlands. The day will conclude with a presentation and
discussion on Iowa Drainage Laws including several legal issues related to tiling.
Workshop materials, morning refreshments, and lunch are included in the registration fee. Industry representatives from Prinsco,
Hancor, and Agri Drain will be available
during the workshop to answer any
questions.
Iowa Drainage Guide will be available for purchase for $25 per copy at the workshop.
