ILF Conservationist David Van Waus
David Van Waus sees the value of conservation from a different aspect. As a regional biologist for Pheasants Forever, he knows the value of a good habitat for the birds and conservation plays a major part. Building ground cover, food plots and wetlands for clean water are critical for the survival of Iowa’s pheasants.
Dave is also a land owner and has100 acres in CRP and 160 acres with row crops, hay and CRP. Living in rural Colo, his land is located in both Story and Poweshiek Counties.
He is also involved in other conservation efforts including a Soil and Water District Commissioner, and NRCS state technical and sustainable fueling committees. He is also active in his church. Dave holds a B.S. from Iowa State University in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology. He and his wife have two grown sons.
In his spare time Dave is playing golf, hunting and fishing.
