Current Issues in Nutrition 2008 Nutrition Education: What Works?

On April 17th, Iowa State University Extension will host the 37th Annual Current Issues in Nutrition - An Interactive Video Webcast. In today's health climate, nutrition education programs are more important than ever. Because the federal government will spend more than $1 billion on nutrition education programs, it is important to consider how these programs can best be delivered and their effectiveness assessed. This conference will focus on educational needs and successful strategies to increase nutrition knowledge in a manner that will facilitate behavior change. The role of nutrition education in changing health behaviors and the impact of environment on nutrition education efforts and effectiveness will be explored. Applications for continuing education units for registered dietitions, certified dietary managers, SNA members, and other professional groups have been submitted.
