Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management (HRIM) Extension has launched a revamped Web site that provides information and educational resources for those interested in hospitality organizations. The Web site can be found at www.extension.iastate.edu/hrim.
"The new site will make it easier for foodservice managers to find and use our services," said Catherine Strohbehn, PhD, RD, CFSP who is the HRIM Extension Specialist an an Adjunct Associate Professor at Iowa State University. As Extension Specialist, Strohbehn provides educational materials and resources for those who work in restaurants, schools, hospitals, child care, assisted-living, lodging and other hospitality organizations to improve operations and better serve their patrons.
The new HRIM Extension site includes information and resources about food safety, HACCP, operation management, local food systems, food defense and current research projects underway in the HRIM program. In addition, ISU Extension publications can be accessed through the site and users can find out information about upcomoing events, such a ServSafe® training that is offered by field specialists across the state.
The mission of HRIM Extension is to provide research-based educational opportunities to Iowa food and lodging organizations. It is part of Families Extension in the College of Human Sciences.
