ISU Food Safety Team Conducts Training

Members of the Food Safety Team conducted training sessions this summer and fall at restaurants, schools, child cares and assisted living foodservice operations as a part of the current USDA/CSREES funded project -  Impact of Employee Training on Mitigating Contamination in Retail Foodservice Operations.

Each location participating in the three-year project receives training for their foodservice employees covering the topics:  Crossing Out Cross Contamination, Handwashing, and Food Defense Awareness.

The Food Safety Team is located in the Food Safety Office of the Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management program at Iowa State University. Members of the Food Safety Team who are participating in the training sessions include: Catherine Strohbehn, Ph.D., RD, CFSP; Jeannie Sneed, Ph.D., RD, SNS, CFSP; Janell Meyer, MBA; and Paola Paez, MS.
