A quarterly publication of Iowa State University Extension It's time for camp More than 3,000 Iowans are attending camps and other
activities at the Iowa 4-H Center near Madrid this summer. More than half
are 4-Hers attending camps such as Invaders of the Darkness, You
Cant Do That and the Everything camp. The center also hosts a variety
of rental customers, from families holding reunions to businesses holding
meetings. The various camps and activities, as well as the centers management and marketing duties, now rest in the hands of John Roosa, who took over as center manager this spring. A former math teacher and basketball coach, as well as a former Webster County 4-H member, Roosa looks forward to combining his love of the outdoors with the enjoyment he receives from teaching youth. Its just great to be able to work outdoors in an educational setting, he said. |
