Industrial specialists are partners in Mastercraft relocation. How do you fit a 130,000 square-foot production operation into a new 66,000 square-foot facility? Town square gets a new face with PLaCE. The town square in Mount Ayr is beginning to look a little different. More Extension centennial events planned. Nearly 300 people braved a spring snowstorm to attend the kickoff reception and dinner celebrating 100 years of Extension in Iowa. On April 7 they traveled to Hull, in the far northwest corner of the state, the “birthplace” of Iowa Extension. More events are planned throughout the year.

Firefighting program teaches teens about community service. Across Iowa, volunteer firefighters are among the most visible people who give back to their communities. Some 90 percent of the state’s firefighters are volunteers. That’s why Iowa State University Extension offers Youth Fire and Emergency Services Day, emphasizing community service while giving Iowa teens a close-up view of volunteer firefighting.

It's time for camp. More than 3,000 Iowans are attending camps and other activities at the Iowa 4-H Center near Madrid this summer.

Understand culture, identify needs to reach Hispanic families. Iowa State University Extension educators and Iowa public service providers have a common concern — how to reach the state’s growing Hispanic population with educational opportunities and services.
