Did you know Extension did that?
- In 1999-2000, ISU Extension's Extended and Continuing Education program served the needs of 263,031 lifelong learners through conferences, short-courses and seminars.
- ISU Extension 4-H Youth Development reached 135,039 different youths with six or more hours of life skills education.
- For every $1 that ISU Extension spends to deliver nutrition education in Iowa, $10.75 is saved in future health care costs. Extension offers targeted nutrition education programs to limited resource youth and families with young children.
- Three companies reported labor savings of $695,950 and 13 companies reported cost savings of $419,700 after working with the Iowa Manufacturing Extension Partnership (IMEP).
- Each year, approximately 90,000 producers or agribusiness personnel consult one-on-one with ISU Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources staff. As a result, more than half of the producers said they had made a change in their operation and 47 percent planned to make a change.
- Extension's Iowa Municipal Clerks Institute provides ongoing education to approximately 150 city clerks each summer. It is a program of ISU Extension to Communities.
