Historic Building Rental and Contracting Rates

The values below summarize rental rates reported to Iowa State University Extension by Iowa and Minnesota tenants, farm owners, and farm managers. Data is reported only for types of buildings that received a significant number of responses.

The mid-point is the value for which half the responses were higher and half were lower (median). Individual rental rates will vary according to the age, condition, size, location, and efficiency of the building being rented. The survey assumed that tenants would pay the cost of utilities and provide labor for repairs.
