Enroll in the 4-H Volunteer Training

Please print out these directions for your reference as you enroll in the 4-H Club Volunteer Training.

  • After printing these directions, click on this link to be taken to the Iowa State University Extension Courses page.  
  • Under “Available Courses” (in the center column), click on the appropriate course link.  You are taken to the course log in page.
  • Do you have an account? If you participated in 4-H Volunteer training previously, you do. Follow the instructions below, based on whether or not you already have an account.
CREATE AN ACCOUNT
  1. If you are enrolling in a course for the first time, you must create an account. Use the link on the right; “Create new account”.
  2. Make sure you record the user name and password you created if you want to return as a student in this course or in future courses.
  3. Fill in all of the fields and click “Create my new account”.
  4. Stop. Now check your e-mail. A message will automatically be sent to the e-mail address you used to create your account. It will come from “ISU Extension Courses” (Note: We've had reports of this message automatically filtered into 'junk' e-mail boxes/folders - please check that location too.) Follow the directions in that message. If the e-mail doesn't show up please contact one of the numbers at the bottom of the page to get help.
  5. After clicking the link in the e-mail, select “Yes” to confirm your enrollment in the course. (If the page does not load and eventually returns “The page cannot be found”, just click your browser's refresh button or press the F5 key.);
  6. Congratulations! You have just created your account and accessed the online training.
 ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUNT
  1. Log in with your user name and password.
  2. Select “Yes” to confirm your enrollment in the course. (If the page does not load and eventually returns “The page cannot be found”, just click your browser's refresh button or press the F5 key.)
  3. Congratulations! You have just successfully accessed the online training.

Please acquaint yourself with the course page: 

  • On the left is the “Welcome” box containing general links about the course. Click on each link to discover the helpful information.
  • The next box on the left is the “Resources” box containing links to supplemental materials that complement this course.
  • When you are ready to start your training, proceed through the material sequentially, starting at the top of the page and working your way through to the bottom.

If you share an e-mail address with another person who needs to complete the training course, you will need to create another e-mail account.  Please go to http://get.live.com/mail/options or another email address provider to get a free account. Follow the directions.

You may log out of the course page using the “Logout” link located in the upper right-hand corner, or by closing the window.

To return to the training, go to:  /4hvolunteers (you may want to bookmark this page, or add it to your favorites) and click on the left-hand link:  “Already Enrolled?  Log in Here”.  You will be taken to the course log in page.  From this point on, fill in your Username and Password on the left and click “Login” to access this the course.
