2010 Day Camp Information

Daily Activities: Days are filled with swimming, crafts, camp programs that match the weekly theme, lunch in the camp dining hall, snacks, rest time, and group games.
 
Deposit: A $30 non-refundable and non-transferable deposit per week is required to hold your spot. Deposits are applied to the total fee. Limited space is available. We will start a waiting list when weeks fill up.
 
Discounts: Youth registering for more than one week will receive a $10 discount for each additional week. 4-H Club or Clover Kid Members take a $10 discount per week
 
Location: The Iowa 4-H Center is located in Boone County, northwest of Madrid off County Road E57 and south on Peach Avenue. We are located next to the Iowa Arboretum.
 
Open House: Join us Thursday, June 3 anytime between 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. for a BBQ picnic dinner. You can try out the climbing tower and archery range, make a camp craft, take a wagon tour of camp, visit the overnight camp cabins and day camp lodge, and meet camp staff and directors. Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions about camp. Bring a friend, it's free!
 
Pick-Up & Drop-Off: We serve the communities of Ames, Boone, Madrid, and Ankeny, picking up day campers each morning between 7:15-7:45 a.m. and dropping them off in the afternoon between 4:45-5:30 p.m. ISU vans will route between Brookside Park in Ames, the Herman Park Pavilion in Boone, North Creek Park in Ankeny, and Edgewood Park in Madrid. Direct drop-off and pick-up of your day camper at the Iowa 4-H Center is available with permission from our camp secretary, Chris Peterson.

Parent Packets: Once we receive your registration, a Parent Packet will be sent to you in March including: specific pick up/drop off times, health forms, and general camp information.
 
Staff: Iowa 4-H Center Day Camp Staff are college-aged Iowa State University employees. They have gone through background checks, CPR & FA certifications, and two weeks of training in order to provide a fun and safe experience for all Day Campers.
