Registration

  • It's easy to register! Registrations for camps will be accepted up to 5 days before the date of the camp you are registering for begins. Registrations are processed in the order received in the 4-H Camp office. Questions? call (515) 795-3338.

New! Take A Bus To Camp!
For 2008 we are offering a charter bus with air-conditioning and video screens to pick up campers on Sunday and return them the following Saturday. We will have one bus traveling to a different corner of Iowa for four weeks this summer. The exact pick-up locations are still being decided. The dates and locations are: Northeast Iowa - Week 2, Northwest Iowa - Week 3, Southwest Iowa - Week 4, and Southeast Iowa - Week 6. The cost will be $89 round trip or $50 one way. More details will be on our Web site and in the parent packet.

Discounts: These discounts do not apply to Day Camp sessions!

Tell a friend and get $25 in your campers bank account when they write your campers name on the recruited by line on the registration form. Recruited friends must be first year campers and non-siblings.

Early Registration Discount is earned when a registration and deposit are received or postmarked by Tuesday, April 1, 2008. Apply a $20 discount for full-week camps and a $10 discount for half-week camps.

Sibling Discounts will apply even if the siblings do not attend the same week. Registrations must be mailed together with the correct deposit amount per child. If the same child attends more than once, they also qualify for the additional sibling discount. Half-week camps: first child = full price, additional siblings = $10 discount each. Full-week camps: first child = full price, additional siblings = $20 discount each. Remember to fill out both sides of registration.

Scholarships
The Iowa 4-H Foundation provides assistance for campers to attend sessions at the Iowa 4-H Center regardless of financial limitations. For information on receiving financial assistance, contact your local county extension office and ask them for Financial Assistance Form VI-309-FS or visit the Iowa 4-H Foundation Web site at www.iowa4hfoundation.org/financial/applications . Complete the form and return it, along with a copy of your registration form, to your county extension office by May 1. Send your actual registration form to the Iowa 4-H Center. If you are unsure how to reach your local county extension office, call the camp office at (515) 795-3338.

Deposits
A $50 deposit is required to confirm all half-week camps and $75 deposit is required to confirm all week-long camps. New this year: there is no deposit required for weekend or day-only camps. The deposit is applied to the total camp fee and is non-refundable.

Payment Information
If registering before June 1, 2008 you may choose to pay the entire balance or just the deposit amount. If your deposit is paid by credit card, the balance will automatically be charged to your card on June 1, 2008. If the entire balance is not paid by June 1, 2008, the reservation may be cancelled and the deposit forfeited. If you are registering AFTER June 1, 2008, then the entire balance is due upon registration. Registrations will be confirmed within 10-14 days of receipt.

Physical Forms
To comply with our ACA Health Standards, each camper is required to provide camp with a physical signed by a physician in the last 24 months prior to camp. These forms must be complete and sent to camp at least two weeks prior to check-in.

Confirmation
Registrations are processed in the order they are received in the camp office. As soon as your registration form and deposit have been received, we will mail you a registration confirmation with an invoice of your fees. If the session you prefer is full, we will contact you to determine if you'll enroll in another session or be placed on the waiting list. Once registered, a $25 fee will be charged for each session change you request after May 15th.

Parent Packet
 Your information packet will be sent after March 1, 2008. This packet includes a health form, camper information form, participation agreement, camp map, store form, suggested packing list, and other useful information regarding your child's camping experience. These forms must be filled out, signed, and mailed back to the Iowa 4-H Center at least 2 weeks before the camp begins . These forms are also available on our Web site.

Cancellations
 No refunds will be issued unless cancellations are made in writing at least 2 weeks prior to the beginning of your child's camp session. Program fees will not be refunded after that date unless accompanied by a doctor's authorized medical reason. No refunds are given if your child leaves early due to homesickness or disruptive behavior as determined by the Camp Director. Refunds are disbursed in the same form as payment was made.
