Peach Avenue, the road leading thousands of people to the Iowa 4-H Center each year, has never looked so good! The old gravel road was graded, straightened, and leveled over the last year. Finally in the fall of 2004 the 2.2 mile stretch of Peach Avenue was paved and ready for visitors. Iowa 4-H Foundation members & staff, Iowa Arboretum members & staff, Boone County Engineers, and several others were on site for the official ribbon cutting on November 10, 2004.
Thanks to the Prairie Pride 4-H Club in Boone County, we now also have a sign hanging over the entrance to the camp where the pavement ends welcoming everyone to the Iowa 4-H Center. The sign is made of special reflective material to illuminate the sign as cars drive under the sign at night.
So, if you're in the area, come see us at the Iowa 4-H Center to enjoy both the scenery and the new road!
