Stitch This! 4-H Design Challenge

The Stitch This! Event will not be held at the Iowa State Fair in 2013.

Stitch This! is a 16-hour design challenge in which teams of four youth deconstruct garments and reconstruct them into a new wearable garment that will be modeled in a runway show at the 4-H Exhibits Building at the Iowa State Fair! 

Who can participate?

Iowa youth completing grades 9-12. At least one member of the team must be a   4-H member. (It's easy to join 4-H!)  Apply in teams of three or four. Interested individuals are able to apply as an individual, partial, or full team. We will combine applicants to make full teams whenever possible.

2011 Stitch This! Event

The 2011 Stitch This! 4-H Design Challenge was held on August 19-20, at the Iowa State Fair was a smash hit! 9 teams with a total of 46 members were challenged to deconstruct prom dresses and create something entirely new. The 2011 theme was 'America the Beautiful'. Participants were asked to look to nature, landscapes, and the beauty of America for their inspiration as they competed for a chance to have their design mass produced for Stacey's Prom and Formalwear 2012 Prom Line.
