Letters of Recommendation
Iowa 4-H Scholarship applicants must have two letters of recommendation. One from an academic advisor such as a high school or college classroom instructor, guidance counselor, advisor, or principal, and one from an Extension staff member or 4-H volunteer.
For applicants: Please provide this link: https://www.iowa4hfoundation.org/scholarshiprecommendation to those whom you have asked to write you a recommendation letter. It is also helpful if you share any other details that will help them to write a recommendation to support your application. Please instruct them to use the same applicant name and county as you have entered on your application.
For academic advisor/teacher/professor/extension staff member/4-H volunteer: Please complete the form below sharing your recommendation relative to the scholastic abilities, leadership, citizenship, need and character of the applicant by March 1, 2013 when all applications are due. The letter of reference should portray the character of the individual so the reader can "visualize" something of the applicant from reading the letter. It does not need to include a listing of involvements as the applicant should have already included this in their application. All of the written statements will be open to the state 4-H scholarship committee and reviewers.
