Military Kids are encouraged to share copies of anything they created in relation to the Reading Collection. Get the form and send it with your artwork to Operation: Military Kids.
The Operation: Military Kids (OMK) reading collection backpacks are available for educators to check out through the Area Education Agency. Family members can check out the backpacks from their Family Assistance Centers.
The collection is designed to foster resiliency in Iowa’s geographically dispersed military kids. The books in the collection were selected for and by military kids to help them cope with separation issues, develop problem solving skills, learn about other cultures and geographical regions, and build pride for their military family members.
