Get Vertical 4-H Adventure Race
GET VERTICAL and ready yourself for a great autumn trail running season. Pick Your Adventure to challenge the whole family on one of our scenic cross-country race courses. Proceeds support the 4-H summer camp scholarship fund.
This unique race course will test your skills with four big hills, steep grades, two sets of staircases, a swinging bridge, and running upstream in Richardson's Creek twice -- your shoes WILL get wet! 12k runners will see the best fall scenery as the gravel, grass, and dirt trails tak you into the Iowa Arboretum, near the Des Moines River, and through the creek. To further challenge our 12K adventure runners, our climbing tower will be open Friday 10/12 from Noon to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday 10/13 from 7:30-11:00 a.m. Medals will be awarded to runners who complete both the 12K race and 50-foot climb.
$30 thru 8/31 | $40 after 8/31 | $50 race day | Entry fee includes Get Vertical performance race shirt, chip timing, post-race brunch, award for completion of both run & climb, and 12 door prize tickets
Race cross-country on gravel, grass, and dirt trails, past a pond, around a farm field, into the timber, across a swinging bridge, up one hill, and through Hickory Village.
