Iowa 4-H Youth Conference

2012 Iowa 4-H Youth Conference

Iowa 4-H Youth Conference

June 26-28, 2012

Theme:  Brighten Your World

Every June, over 1000 teenagers converge on the campus of Iowa State University for 3 days full of speakers, workshops, mixers, dances, a banquet, and community service activities.

If you've completed 8th grade, you're eligible to attend.

You don't even have to be in 4-H to attend this conference! You will get to experience campus life, and meet new people from across the state! You will be having fun while learning by doing, dancing the nights away, and serving the community. You will get to learn new things to take back to your community and school, and in the process you might even discover something new about yourself! There are opportunities for you to share your talents with the rest of the delegation through small group discussion, the Conference Chorus, and a Talent Show!

If you have a specific interest in animal science, you might want to look into becoming part of the ROUND-UP track!  We'll also have a special track devoted to agronomy, called CSI: Crops.  And, new this year, a track looking wilderness education and Shooting Sports.

Please join us in June for the most incredible three days of your life at the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference!

Iowa Safe and Supportive Schools (IS3) youth participants can attend Conference on scholarship if they choose T25, W25, R25-From Passion to Community Action.  It's a 3-day continuous workshop looking at strengthening youth voice in your local community, developing leadership skills, and understanding citizenship.  In addition to marking that workshop choice, please make a note on your registration which IS3 school you attend.  Check out this flyer with more details about this opportunity.

Our latest update:  Please bring any spare change you have with you to conference and support our Conference-wide service project.  We'll be collecting change to donate to Meals from the Heartland.  The council will keep track and recognize the Area who gives the most.  See this flyer for more details.  And, thanks in advance for helping to Brighten the World for others!!  Change will be collected at floor meetings.
