How to Join
Criteria for Selection/Application
You can join the Iowa State 4-H Youth Technology Team if you are an Iowa high school freshman, sophomore, or junior who wants to learn technology skills, teach and serve others, and have fun.
Criteria
- Must be a freshman, sophomore, or junior in High School.
- Can easily access to a computer, the Internet, and email.
- Interested in information technology. (Computers, Internet, etc.)
- Interested in volunteering time and talents.
- Possess these skills (one or more of these areas):
- Working with and/or training people
- Graphic design
- Public presentation and speaking
- Video
- Animation
- Editing
- Drawing/art
- Organization
- Audio
- High level computer skills
- Computer Programming
- Web page development/design
- Conflict resolution
- Photography
- Two letters of recommendation (local school teacher or administrator).
- Maximum of 5 pages of written support material or a max of 10 minutes for a video or audio tape.
- Conduct a face-to-face interview by your area committee.
Application deadlines:
They range from county to county, from mid January to early February with interview selections held in early February to early April. Area selections are made by the extension area selection committee and turned in to the State 4-H Office by April 15th.
