Boone County: There are many service opportunities at the State 4-H Camp. The project includes several tasks. We kicked it off on April 15 with the renovation and construction of a shed near the shooting range. The shed will house and safely store supplies for the range. A work day on Saturday, May 26, was a follow-up and completion of the range project and work on the trails and walking paths. We removed tree branches, looked for hazards that could be minimized or removed, and put down mulch. On Aug. 2 we concentrated on efforts to improve the area around Oak Lodge. We made minor improvements to the lodge, rebuilding the fire ring, improving the immediate trails in the area and building picnic tables. See photos. (Rich Wrage)

Dallas County: Extension staff and volunteers and ISU alumni helped with the restoration efforts of the old scale house from the co-op in Dallas Center. The building was donated by Bill Wagoner who moved it from Dallas Center to his home and restored it to use as an office at the Forest Park Museum in Perry. We helped paint and do minor trim work to the interior of the building. See Photo (Linda Nelson)

Greene County: A visible roadside project at the Grand Junction Lions Tree Park on highway 30 east of Grand Junction describing transportation progress (Lincolnway highway and a unique view of bridges throughout the years) has been in process for some time. As a way to support finishing this project, and build upon the changes through the years, a structure commemorating importance and changes in barns will be added to this roadside park. See photos.
