To celebrate Iowa State University's Sesquicentennial, the Madison County Extension office coordinated two separate events to promote and commemorate the event.

During the annual Madison County Covered Bridge festival, the Madison County Extension Office organized a booth in front of the Extension Office with information about Extension and Agriculture and fun things for youth to do including a corn box, a live animal display and a wool spinning display. Following the day, Cy was to attend and walk with Extension staff, volunteers, clients and ISU alumni in the annual parade. Unfortunately the day was cancelled due to excessive moisture and hence CyÕs trip to Madison County was canceled as well.

Due to responses from alumni and other interested parties, Cy was rescheduled to come to Winterset to hand out candy during the trick or treat afternoon/evening. Prior to the event Cy made a trip around the square to meet with local business owners and shoppers.
