To celebrate Iowa State and our 150th Anniversary trees were given to all the schools in Keokuk, both private and public, as well as to Central Lee Community Schools in Donnellson. In the spring of 2008 a tree will be given to each of the schools in Fort Madison. It was felt that by planting a tree at each of the schools the celebration would last a generation. Learning to plant a tree was a new educational opportunity for nearly all of the students something Iowa State has provided for generations. The pictures were printed in our local newspaper in addition to a half page write up on the history of Iowa State.
