An educational prairie plant display was constructed along the south side of the Hancock County Ag Museum at the Hancock County Fairgrounds in Britt. The native prairie plants are identified with ceramic name plates made by a 4-H member. The planting took place on May 26 and involved Ag Museum board members, Extension Council members, 4-H club and teen council members. A $250 Iowa’s Promise Youth Grant was awarded to defray project costs. Commemorative ceremonies were held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 21, with Mike Anderson, ISU Extension 4-H Program Specialist, presenting the plaque to John Fangman (Ag Museum), Darrell Schaper (Ag Museum) and Willy Klein (Extension Council member, project coordinator).
