ISU Extension Sesquicentennial Service Project
Fayette County, June 12, 2007

Fayette County is observing the ISU Sesquicentennial with a county-wide barn quilt project which was commemorated in ceremonies at the fairgrounds on June 12 during a visit by the WMT Radio Tractorcade. More than 460 tractors were at the fairgrounds for the Tractorcade. Fayette County Extension 4-H also served an omelet breakfast. Thirty barn quilts have been installed as part of the project, and 30 more are planned by the end of the summer. The commemorative ceremonies included the Extension Council, Youth Committee, and 4-H Council. ISU was represented by Tunde Adeleke, professor of history and director of the African American Studies program at ISU.
